Lenire Sponsors Tinnitus Week 2024

Lenire, the groundbreaking tinnitus treatment device from Neuromod Devices, is proud to announce our sponsorship of Tinnitus UK’s Tinnitus Awareness Week 2024. Lenire sponsors Tinnitus Week for the sixth consecutive year.

“Partnership with Tinnitus UK allows us to support Tinnitus UK’s Tinnitus Week campaigns with a shared goal of amplifying the discussion around tinnitus, the impact it has on people living with the condition and the available interventions and support resources available.” said Neuromod Devices Global Head of Marketing, Neil Doyle.

Tinnitus UK is the only tinnitus-centric charity in the United Kingdom. In addition to raising awareness, Tinnitus UK provides valuable resources to those living with tinnitus.

What is Tinnitus Awareness Week?

Starting the first full week of February each year, Tinnitus Week is a series of events and media campaigns that raise tinnitus awareness and improve the tinnitus patient experience.

In addition to broader goals, Tinnitus UK’s Tinnitus Awareness Week 2024 Campaign focuses on the launch of their fascinating Struggle for Silence Report

According to Tinnitus UK’s Struggle for Silence Report, tinnitus impacts 1-in-7 people in the United Kingdom but, despite this, tinnitus remains a relatively silent affliction. Tinnitus Week sparks conversation about tinnitus, and tells those living with tinnitus that they are not alone.

Lenire sponsors Tinnitus Week through partnership with Tinnitus UK to spread awareness of tinnitus and the support systems that are available for those living with the condition.

When is Tinnitus Awareness Week 2024?

Tinnitus Week happens on the first full week of February every year. Tinnitus Week 2024 takes place from Monday, February 5 – Sunday, February 11 2024.

Follow Tinnitus UK on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to join in the conversation, discover helpful resources and take part in activities in your area.

  • Listen: Tinnitus UK join BBC5Live to discuss tinnitus at the 1:06 timestamp mark.

Tinnitus UK urges all who take part in Tinnitus Awareness Week to talk about tinnitus and, if possible, pen a letter to their local elected representative to further tinnitus publicity.

Tinnitus UK’s Struggle for Silence Report offers key insights into tinnitus, the lives of tinnitus sufferers and, importantly, the barriers to getting help that those with tinnitus face.

Struggle for Silence Report – Tinnitus UK

Tinnitus Week 2024 centres around data gleaned from Tinnitus UK’s Revealing the Struggle for Silence report. The report found that sleep disturbance, social isolation and emotional distress are all-too-common aspects of living with tinnitus.

  • Sleep: 85.7% of respondents reported sleep disturbances as a result of tinnitus.
  • Distress: 54.9% report struggling to think rationally.
  • Anxiety: 8 out of 10 people experienced low mood or anxiety with 7 out of 10 feeling hopeless or helpless.

It isn’t just the noise of tinnitus that feeds into the feeling of helplessness. Low visibility for tinnitus in healthcare services can make it difficult for patients to get the help they need.

  • GP Resources: 15% of respondents received information on tinnitus care from their GP.
  • Secondary Support: Only 6-in-10 people were referred to secondary care.
  • Long Waits: 1 in 6 people wait more than 12 months for a secondary care appointment.

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is the perception of sound when there is no external stimulus. Simply put, even if it is whisper quiet, a person with tinnitus will perceive sound. Tinnitus is commonly known as constant ringing in the ears but it can be hissing, pulsing, humming or thumping.

Many people experience short term tinnitus after a concert or a loud event. Many more live with tinnitus long term and it impacts quality of life significantly.

There is currently no cure for tinnitus. However, Trusted Tinnitus UK Brand, Lenire is proven to provide significant relief from tinnitus.
