AARP Features Lenire Tinnitus Treatment Device

AARP Features Lenire

AARP, America’s largest non-profit organisation that reaches 150+ million retired people monthly, has published an in-depth feature on Lenire, the first and only FDA Approved tinnitus treatment device.

AARP’s Lenire feature deep-dives into Lenire’s clinical trials, real world evidence, and shares an inspiring patient story.

  • Did you know? Adults over the age of 50 are 40% more likely to experience tinnitus than than those under 50. This is due to the associative link between age-related hearing loss and tinnitus.

AARP’s tinnitus patient story follows Philadelphia-based senior research project coordinator at Johns Hopkins University, Clara Flores (48).

AARP Features Lenire – Clara Gets Relief from Tinnitus With Lenire

In 2013, mother-of-two Clara began hearing constant buzzing in her ears as a result of a bad cold. To add to the annoyance, the pitch of Clara’s tinnitus was louder in one ear than the other.

Clara visited an ENT and was informed she had hearing loss and tinnitus.

“An ENT told me I had tinnitus along with some hearing loss, and that there was nothing he could do. I cried for two years. Grieving that I would never hear silence again — like that moment of calm when your children fall asleep.”

Over a decade later, Clara discovered Lenire, a clinically proven at-home bimodal neuromodulation device, that had been approved by the US FDA. Soon after, Clara was prescribed Lenire by Dr. Gail Brenner, owner of Tinnitus Treatment Center of Philadelphia.

“The benefit has been remarkable,” says Dr. Gail Brenner. “I have fit more than 120 tinnitus patients with the Lenire device in less than two years. Their success rate is over 85%. It’s a game changer.”

Annoying Buzzing Tinnitus Turned to Soothing Sounds of Birdsong

After Lenire, Clara’s tinnitus is barely noticeable. On Clara’s most recent vacation, she heard a bird singing outside her hotel room. It was then she realised that she could no longer hear buzzing, only the sweet sound of birdsong.

“I didn’t hear anything else. Lenire has brought a lot of peace, a lot of space in my brain for other things” she said.
